Whitebait season starts today for the whole country! We will be keeping our ear to the ground to hear where it is running. The whitebait season for all of New Zealand including the West Coast of the South Island is 1 September to 14 November inclusive. After quite some time I have completed 'Endless Evening at Lake Alexandrina'. Having visited the lake many times, this long calm evening pictured in the painting has been the most memorable. I arrived late on a balmy autumn afternoon having never visited before, and it was simply stunning, not a breath of wind with the last golden leaves grasping onto the tree branches.
